OH, also...happy one year birthday to my blog!

my blog is one year old today!!!

7 months...Really?

Yep. Today Koze is 7 months. We celebrated with a LONG walk up to Mt Tabor a swing on the swings and then we headed downtown to Jamison Square for a quick dip in the fountain. I think Koze's favorite part of going out is the people watching. I'm sure he's trying to figure out how he can run around like the big kids. I think it frustrates him a little bit. Or maybe a lot. He's been extra grunty lately. Plus he is starting to really teeth so the past few days/nights have been a little harder. He wants to CRAWL so bad! Or just be able to get to whatever it is he is wanting at any given moment. He's started reaching out and waving his arms at objects and people that he wants to grab onto. Every morning when we walk down the stairs there is a window about half way down and he tries every single time to grab it. He's pretty serious about it too...He kind of tucks his chin down and glares at it as he's waving his arms. Cute, cute, cute.

And then there's food. He's eating solids a couple times a day now. At first I tried some organic jarred baby food and he wasn't really a fan. THEN I started making it on my own using organic fruits and vegetables that I steamed and pureed - he LOVES it. Especially apples. Man does he love apples. And they are great because he can chew on a big fat slice and it seems to feel really good on those gums. The only downside to that is when, eventually, I have to take it away and he inevitably cries. Actually he gets sad if you take anything away but especially apples and paper. Speaking of which - books, envelopes and anything else made out of paper is his new favorite things. Forget about the drawer FULL of toys that we have. He will take a nice piece of paper over any of them...except maybe his giraffe, Sophie. Oh and also straps, like on his carseat or the strap on his diaper bag...those are also favorite things.

This month went by so fast, I think because he is keeping me busier. He seems to become a new, more grown up version of him every single day. And honestly - I am a little tired. I think school starting back up will create some balance for me. And Koze too. He will get to spend Tuesday and Thursday mornings with the Connetts and his G.G. - some of his favorites so its good all around.

First June Weekend Cont.

On Saturday we went out to eat at Navarre with Nicole, Noah, Marguery, Jamie and Justin. I documented our trip to and from the restaurant but was so enjoying the amazing food while we were there that I completely forgot to take any pictures. Oh well.

On our way home from a fun night with friends...

First June Weekend

We started out the weekend with First Thursday and headed downtown with Kira to check out Seann's Knit Not War project which was being displayed at the Ace Hotel for the evening before being shipped to The Children's Peace Memorial in Hiroshima, Japan.

Here's a little blurb about the project:

Knitnotwar 1,0o0—a public art installation displaying a thousand knit cranes, celebrating the quiet logic of peace. More than a hundred artists contributed to knitting one thousand origami style cranes.

Friday we were up and at 'em early with a visit from Gramy, lunch at the Connett's and a little road trip up to Seattle.

And today, Saturday, I was up early getting ready while Koze enjoyed sleeping in. Such a nice morning.
